Make sure you pass through the real hill country. Id cut West through fredricksburg or Kerville and then start heading south myself. That place is so beautiful, no sure about where to stay though, i live down here so never really had to consider it

Eat at Salt Lick (Best all you can eat BBQ-BYOB joint) outside of Austin. The roads out there awesome too, Perhaps not the best.

The three sisters can be draining for someone who hasnt ridden them. That being said, yes i would plan on staying in Kerrville if it was me. Corpus isnt just super close to Kerrville, so allot enough time to make it enjoyable. LOTS of lodging and restaurants in Kville too.

You will be close to Bandera, Fredricksburg, Luckenbach, and right on the interstate to head west or east.

It's not that far from Kerrville to the 3 sisters. We usually ride from Kerrville to Bandera for Breakfast. We eat at the SMT. John Wayne ate here while filming Hondo. Lots of cool pictures. From there we ride back west to ride the sisters. Still not that far. There is a pretty big gas station in Leakey. So get gas when you get there.

If at all possible, hit the Sisters on a weekday so you can enjoy them without anyone pushing you.

be careful on the 3 sisters. I heard they just did some road work and there's quite a bit of gravel all over the place.
