Default Lake Michigan Circle Tour, 2017

Looking to do the ride around Lake Michigan over July 4th week in 2017. Seen a few posts from a ways back... Have up to 8 days to do this if need be.... Planning on 2 days in upper MI at a cabin, prolly a day in the Mackinaw City area, then some time on the East side of the lake... Any updated info on things to do/see/scenic roads on the East side of the lake? Even if we have to go inland is OK.

Thanks in Advance!

There is a few threads on this topic so a search might be helpful for you.
I'll give you my 2 cents,,,Take 31 south out of Mac City to cross village. stop and eat/drink at the Legs Inn. Take 119 (tunnel of trees) from Legs Inn south to Harbor Springs and then Petoskey. Get back on 31 and take it all the way though Charlevoix and onto Traverse City. Take M-22 from Traverse City all the way to Manistee. M-22 is a very nice ride though some really nice small towns. Take your time and enjoy ride.

There is a little town named Frankfort that is a easy ride from Mackinaw City on the east side of the lake. We stayed at the Wayfarer Lodging just outside of town. What a great place. If you stay there make sure you take the path down to the lake.

Default Trip is planned!

Thanks to all who replied with information.... Trip is planned, rooms are booked.. Group of 4 bikes/4 couples.
1st two nights are in Manistique, MI on the W side of the lake, renting a couple cabins in the area & going to tool around up der taking in some scenery & waterfalls.
2nd two nights are in Rogers City, MI on Lake Huron shoreline with a stop in Mackinaw City & tunnel of trees ride on the way down & over. Staying here because rooms were jacked everywhere else over the 4th I'm guessing. Will ride on over to Traverse City area to run some of 31 & the pennisula area nearby. Going to hit either Leg's Inn or the other suggested bar & grill as well.
Then either heading down the Lake Huron shoreline or back over to 31, not sure yet for our 5th night in Paw Paw, MI area which is on our way S to the S end of lake...
6th night, we were thinking Harrah's in Joliet or perhaps just an overnight in Woodstock, IL to unwind & visit Woodstock HD which is an awesome dealership...
From Woodstock, 1/2 of the group will head home, the other 1/2 will head to camp in Redgranite, WI for the weekend.... Hoping for great weather & a great time!!

There's not much to see in Paw Paw, MI. I would drive the extra 30 or so minutes west to South Haven or something. It's right on Lake Michigan.

- Leggs Inn at cross village (bring your camera)
- Ride the Tunnel of Trees on Rt. 119 (watch for sand on roads)
- Overnight stay in Traverse City to enjoy the night life
- Ride Blue Star Highway, making stops in Saugatuck and South Haven
