Default Wheels Through Time Museum

My buddies and I are heading to the Smoky Mountains again this spring and want to stop in at the Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum. I realize it would be possible to spend a whole day (or more there) but how long do you think we should plan on for a good overview kind of visit?

I have been twice and would think 4 hours as a good time to walk through everything without spending too much time on any one thing. You are right there is so much to see that to take it all in you could easily spend a day. On my 2nd visit I saw things I missed the first time. Great place to visit.

I agree. Plan on a few hours. You could be there all day if Dale starts firing up some of them. Alot to see but nowhere near a giant place. An hour would be a quick walk through. When we went we took a rain day off so we werent time restrained.(it rained for days on one of my trips)

12 of us were there approx 3.5 hrs which included Dale firing up and riding a couple bikes up and down the aisles.

If you catch Dale on a slow day you may never get out of there ... He'll lead you around the whole place and tell stories of how, where and why he got something.

How true you are Uncle. Dale had time for a talk, but he wasn't up for any hands on work (check out his right hand).

It depends on how much of a "detail" person you are but four hours seems to be reasonable...for your first visit.

I've been there several times beginning during their open weeks and then just last year and I still see new things (or things that I may have missed earlier).

Check their hours to be sure they're open the day you plan to visit.

Ya--I,ve been 3 times, believe they are closed Mon/Tues --4 hrs is reasonable---take into consideration where you're staying and what time you arrive there
