Probably depends on what they are carrying.

My camping gear will be on the seat behind me. I am pretty sure that will stay there for the entire trip.

FM-170 through Big Bend Ranch State Park along the Rio Grande is a fantastic ride. It's hilly, twisty & scenic.

Some other worthwhile nearby rides:

Ft. Davis to the McDonald Observatory, continuing through the Davis Mountains and back to Ft. Davis. Google Maps link: https://*******/maps/zeNToAoTe172.

Terlingua to the Santa Elena Canyon Trail. Google Maps link: https://*******/maps/3sNffDyxYC82. (Make sure you hike the short trail to the canyon.)

Terlingua to the Chisos Basin. Google Maps link: https://*******/maps/mMEVSBUY2aP2.

One other thing you'll need to know... where to fill up...

You can get gas in Presidio, Terlingua and at the Panther Junction Service Station in Big Bend National Park.

Panther Junction Service Station to the Chisos Basin: https://*******/maps/yGxJ82c8bk42.

Good point on the gas. With CR2 heading east out of BBNP, I'd recommend topping off at Marathon. Also, the Gage Hotel is a cool place with a fine breakfast. Also wanted to say that a stop at Langtry out on 90 is worthwhile. Nice little historical spot on Judge Roy Bean and the story of law enforcement "west of the pecos". Also, often photographed bride across the Pecos River is a good stop.

I started watching a show on Netflix last night. It is a crime story based in Terlinqua. I just got into the first bit of the first show, but will binge watch it this weekend. Rattlesnakes and Scorpions in the promo.......Maybe I will motel it.....LOL.

Hmm... the form must be messing with the links... so here they are in parts:

The first part of all three links is: h_t_t_p_s_:_/_/ (without the underscores).
The second part of all three links is: g_o_o_._g_l_/_m_a_p_s_/ (without the underscores).
The third part of the link are the three map codes: zeNToAoTe172, 3sNffDyxYC82, mMEVSBUY2aP2.

(Also: You can go to the Google Maps website, press the menu button (three horizontal bars in top left-hand corner), select "Share or embed map" from the menu, click on the Short URL check box and you'll see the pattern above. Just replace the end of the URL with one of the three codes above.)

The ride to Santa Elena Canyon on Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive cannot be missed. More fun than 170.

Hope this helps.
