You're about 1500 miles from Sturgis ... break it up and enjoy the scenery! My distance is 1400 ( I go up through the UP of Michigan ) and I'm on my 67th trip around the sun. I guarantee yo that this winter when you're sitting around having a cold one you won't be talking about " remember when we pulled the truck into the gas station to put fuel in it"

I thank y'all for all the good advice , that's what I am 1506 miles to Sturgis . We were planning on leaving early on the 2nd and arriving around mid day on the 4th . After reading the replies I believe we will leave a day earlier on the 1st and allow for the weather and enjoy the trip . Thanks again .

You will have about 150-200 miles more depending on the route than I do from Madison MS. I have done it in 3 days and its not bad. 4 days gives you leeway for weather and the chance to stop and smell the roses more often, have fun

I have about the same distance from S Mississippi. Ride brother ride.
I use to go up through Memphis/St. Louis. St. Louis was always rough due to traffic in the afternoon. It was always HOT as well. Last year I went up through Little Rock to Joplin, MO for the first night. Nice ride. Seemed like when I headed North to Joplin it started cooling off. I have always did the ride in 2 1/2 days. Get in to Sturgis about 2-3 in the afternoon.
The first time I went, two buddies and I came home in 2 days. Not too bad. Ever since then, I leave Sturgis and head west for another week or so. I go by myself most of the time. A friend made the ride one other time and he came home after Sturgis and I headed west. Shame to go that far and not do Yellowstone, Montana, Utah, Colorado, etc.
Stop when your but feels like it and get gas, walk around, get a drink, bathroom, etc. You are good for another 130 - 150 miles. Like I told a buddy, 600 miles is just four gas stops. Enjoy the ride and ride safe.
