Any good rides to go on in or around Cave in rock? I heard about land between the lakes, will do that, any suggestions? We will be coming from Kansas City.

Garden of the God's. Old Shawneetown. Ride the ferry from cave in rock over to Kentucky. Then go to Sturgis ,KY. Nice little bike shop there.

+1 on the garden of the gods and giant city. Garden of the Gods won't seem like it amounts to much from the road. You have to park the bike and hike the trails. Some of the best trails to hike in the midwest at both places.

As far as the riding goes, the southern 1/3 of the state has the best scenery. Lots of good roads and wineries, plenty of small towns to stop for a break.

If you ride land between the lakes, stop at the south end welcome center. They have a map of a neat little civil war museum just outside the LBL park in Ten. It's the site of Fort Donalson and most of the tour you can ride through and see the old cannons along the river and the battleground.

 

Wife and I are looking to take a ride through that area, is there a specific route or road that you guys suggest?

 

I1myhd, are you camping at hogrock or staying at one of the hotels? If I can get out of work I plan on camping there at least Fri. and Sat. night.

We will be camping there for the entire ralley,I hear it is a pretty good one. We hope to get some riding in while we are there.
