How much time do you have? The Colorado portion of the Lincoln really only is I25 and I76 going down and out of Colorado. Much better riding in the state than those freeway portions. Really need a timetable to better help you.

Cutting through Utah I would highly recommend highway 12. Go through Bryce Canyon and Boulder Mtn. One of my favorite rides.

Was going to note this as well. One of the finest rides in the country. Continuing at Torrey, ride east on 24 through Capitol Reef National Park to Hanksville, south on 95 through the Glen Canyon Rec Area and on to 191, then Cortez, Colorado. A world class ride.

Here's the map...http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=US...&via=1&t=m&z=9

If you run 15, be very careful because cattle (cows) free-range in California as you get closer to Nevada and you will probably see them on the road. Especially problematic if you are going through there at night. Black cows at night on the road just do not show up in the head light beam. Other than that, you should have a great ride.

Where to in Ca.
Hey 50 starting in Pueblo is a great ride. I rode it all the way to Sacramento. Colo & Utah have so much great riding its hard to say.
I've taken 15 between SanDiego and St George more times than I can remember. Except for the short hope between St George and Mesquite NV, its very straight and dull. The Valley of Fire (south of 15 toward lake Mead is cool, but not in summer as the name implies).
I've often come by way of Prescott, Sedona, Flagstaff. That is a one of my favorite rides. The only down side is once or twice I've encountered heavy RV traffic North of Sedona.
I've ridden between Colo and Calif about 8 Times. If you want send me a PM and I can give you camping info. 10 days should be a great trip.

I've taken both I-80 and Hwy 50. 50 is a great ride. I got a ticket. There are stretches where you can go 90, and I did, other parts are nice and twisty. Almost no traffic. I passed a cop going the other direction, I was going 70-75 in a 65 zone with no traffic on a clear day. He turned and came after me. Must have been bored.
Camp at Hickison if the timing is right. Check out the petroglyphs. Both Hickison and Bob Scott are dry, so you'll need water before you set camp. You can get the water and top the tank in Austin, or get a room.
If you have a peanut tank don't take 50.
