I'm kind of kicking around the idea of a SS1000 to Sturgis. It's just over 1000 miles from Utah Valley to Dillon, over to I-90, then stay on 90 all the way to Sturgis.

I shoulda gone with you, but I would've insisted we go up to Missoula for a huckleberry ice cream cone at the Big Dipper. Congrats on your ride. Keep me in mind when you're planning the next one.

I've already got reservations for my trip to Sturgis or I'd join you.

Hard to say, it shuts down while riding. I have a thread where I've detailed what it's doing, prolly easier for you to read that than me going into detail here. Sucks, because I enjoy longer rides, and the challenge of the Iron Butt rides appeals to me.

I didn't read all of the back posts, so you may have already answered this question...
You have done at least a Saddlesore 1000 before, yes? This is required before a BBG (IBA Xtreme ride) will be certified by the IBA.
Yes, I think you absolutely should give it a go! You've got the advantages of the open west, big country, and relatively low traffic concerns...read, easily sustained average speed.
It's a tough ride no matter who you are or what you ride, and the feeling of satisfaction is pretty great.
All the best,
Shane

I think the Bun Burner gold would be one of the hardest rides. The SS2000 is hard, and I was wiped out at the end of that day. (Of course that didn't stop us from doing another 750+ miles the next day.) Doing 1500 in under 24 hours just seems beyond my capacity.
