Thanks! No plans for the next one yet, and it may have to wait until next summer, though that could change. I'd like to try the SS2000k, seems very doable after finally knowing what it takes to run the one I did. It's certainly addictive to ride some big miles

HAHA!!

Geno: congrats on getting it!

Seventy4: I hear ya, but why not if you got everything? You should IMO but that is just my opinion.
Thank you, it was not without some trials, but feels good to get it done!

I agree. If you have all the documents - WHY NOT???? What have you got to loose?
I know you know you did it, but don't you want others to know you accomplished something special? I know, after all I went through, I'd want people to know it, otherwise why even do it.
All the people I tell my story to, they all are very eager to learn more about it and ask me tons of questions.

Motorcycles are not the only vehicles to do an Iron Butt ride. Some people do it on motor scooters also. I'd love to hear THEIR stories.

I rode from Monticello, IN to Breckenridge, CO for my first Iron Butt on June 22, 2013. I left my house AFTER spending the previous 10 hours shooting a wedding. That was a crazy, exhausting, wonderfully fulfilling experience.

I'm considering doing another Iron Butt at the end of October and MAYBE a cold weather ride south out of Indiana to FL at the end of January.

Took my second Iron Butt ride, that's two this month:

San Bernidino, CA to Boulder, CO. Left California at 1:15 am yesterday, pacific time, to beat the heat but it was still 95 deg when I left. Rain, thunder, lightning and hail on I70 but I was right at the Salt Wash view area / rest stop past Salina. I sat it out until the storm moved NE away from my direction of travel. Another larger storm was following, no time to waste.

The rest of the trip was uneventful with an unplanned stop for the rain gear again. 55 degs and some rain over Vail pass but nothing major. 1,020 miles on the odometer and 1,007 on the inRoute map without all the fuel stop side roads entered. Pulled into the garage at 10:30 pm, same day.

Heading back up to MT in less than two weeks for a ride with my father in law and we're going to ride up and around Flathead Lake and back down to Lolo, south of Missoula, then head west through the pass via hwy 12 to Washington.

Edit: Purchased the inRoute and now I can enter all my stops. Total mileage 1,010 with software.

Completed my SECOND Iron Butt on the way to the Sturgis 75th Anniversary.
Got married the week before & this was our Biker Honeymoon Trip. The new bride & I headed out from Albany, NY at about 0415 on 1 Aug. We hit Cedar Rapids, Ia at 1030 that night...1059 miles. Got up & rode to Spearfish, SD & got there about 2015 on 2 Aug.
We hit the 1500 mile mark just outside of Sioux Falls, SD, at about 1530 that afternoon. I rode my 14 Wethead & she rode her 09 RKC. We both qualify for the SS1000 & the BB1500...

Great job. Last August My wife and myself and a friend all rode Street Glides from Atlanta to Sturgis getting both the SS 1000 and BB 1500. Great memories. Probably more from the ride than Sturgis itself.

And, now you know what those that trailer their bikes will never know or understand...

The ironbutt ride home was a highlight of my trip.

I just received my notice Tuesday, by email, that my ride home from Sturgis was approved for membership and received my membership number. I was hooting and hollering. Yep, all that noise you heard, it was me.

Congrats to all those above on their rides too.
