Default Iron Butts, check in here.

Who's done an Iron Butt run?? Tell us which one you did, or tell us the whole story if you like, write a book even.

I'm just interested in if folks have done some of the more extreme runs. I did my first saddle sore last summer and now thinking of doing a bit different this summer, like maybe the cross Canada one.

Here is their list...

and repeated here...

I received the certificate for the SS1000 Iron Butt ride I completed in June on the 18' Fat Bob. Cool!
Iron Butt ride #31 and I think my last.

Saddle sore 1 k and bun burner gold. I was cruising the iba website and saw the license plate back u get after completing 1500 in under 24 hrs and I had to have it. The rest is history. I don't get a lot of joy out of riding interstate but there's something spiritual about 23.5 hrs of alone time in the saddle. I remember when I left me and ol were fighting about money/work/kids/whatever and when I got home and rested everything was ok. I always tell people that riding a Harley is the closest I've come to getting high since I quit getting high. Ride safe

Ps. Check out sc-ma.com and their 4 corners run. That'll be next when the kiddies get a little older

4 corners sounds awesome. 16 days, almost 8000 miles. That would be a good challenge. Let me know when you're planning it. I'll join ya. haha.

So you got me thinking about the IB gold now. You would pretty much have to pick interstates, or in my case the trans canada highway. I'd have to go east from calgary across the praries. It's flat straight and fast. I could make good time. hmmm, I'm thinking.

Lynnwood Washington to Kaycee Wyoming...1048 miles in 17 hrs 45 miniutes...all by myself...It was quite spiritual when I hit that 1000 mile mark out in the middle of nowhere. That trucker must have thought I was nuts , jumping up and down like that. Got up early the next morning and did another 500 miles by 3 in the afternoon. I would have qualified for a Bun-burner if I had bothered to document the 2nd day.. Now you got me thinking...I want to do it again.

Default Iron Butt

I felt aggrevation like never before after returning from my 5,000 mile run up vietnam and around the crown and back. The pain from three degenerated discs was one thing, but the muscle tension across the bum is still a pain in the bum. I am writing a book about it (the trip, not the bum) and all the sitting is killin me!

Just came back from the orthopedic Doc with another script for relaxers, and a small inventory of pain killers in preparation for a ride next month over the Zanskar Range in Kashmir.

Still a few weeks for recovery and as always looking forward to the ride ahead.

I just got back from Daytona, Florida. I wanted to do the iron butt 50cc coast to coast in 50 hours or less but got held up in texas, met all kind of barriers from sand storm, rain, storm, snow and freeway being close but finally able to go to daytona bikefest and had fun. I was disappointed I wasn't able to do the 50cc to going there so I tried going back and able to do it in 47 hours and so many minutes. I did this with lots of preparation and started with 1000 miles in less than 24 hours and gradually to 50cc. Its impossible to do without alots of preparation and practice run.

I should get 4 certification in this run. ss1000, ss200, bb1500 and 50cc

I put on a riders backrest last year. Best investment I ever made. I don't get tired or sore at all any more. Do you run a riders backrest 6gear?

I'm working on the national parks tour this year....I'm up to 4 states and 10 stamps and it's sill March.
I'll be doing a New England tour and a Southwest tour this year to complete about 95% of it. 1 or 2 more two day trips north and I'll finish....

You should come to Alberta, you could visit Banff, Jasper and Yoho National Parks. But I suppose they have to be state side hey?
