Default First trip to Sturgis

This year will be my first time attending the Sturgis Rally. I have gathered quite a bit of information from the web. I still need one last bit of info. What businesses in the area (bars, restaurants, casinos) allow club colors? I hear many do not, but I heard that a few might still allow it. Also, if the establishment does not allow colors, how about club t-shirts? Thanks for the help.

May I ask... Why is it important for you to wear your colors??? just curious

Personally, I don't care if you do or don't... If you feel the need, go for it...

Since I don't belong to a "club" I can't help you... but I do know One Eyed Jacks won't allow you to wear your colors.

Thanks for the response. To answer your question, I do not want to give my business to an establishment that I am not welcome. Denying service to people that wear certain articles of clothing is discrimination. It's no different than denying someone due to their race, sex, religion, etc. You could come up with all kinds excuses to ban certain people. "Let's bar this guy for wearing an OCC shirt cause I hate Paul Sr." or "You can't come in with that cross necklace cause Christians are violent". These examples are ridiculous, just like not letting someone in because of what they're wearing.

As far as why I want to wear my colors, that's one of those questions that if you don't wear a patch, you probably wouldn't understand. Think about why you wear something that you wear with pride. Maybe you have a patch on that commemorates your veteran status. I'm sure you wear that with pride. You earned it. It's sort of the same thing.

I think the show COPS did a special episode about Sturgis that is rerun often this time of year.

I seem to recall most places did not permit "colors".

You have to think the shear size of the rally would make this rule necessary.

I don't have any info that will help you as I guess I don't pay that much attention. I can say I see lots of club patches around sturgis (mostly 2 clubs)

But I agree with your reasoning 100%. Same reason I don't give my hard earned dollars to business that CHOOSE to post a "no guns allowed" sign. I could lock it in my saddle bag, but **** them. They must be making enough money that they don't need mine.

Oh yea, since it is your first time to sturgis, look me up and I will buy you a beer. I will be a white guy in jeans, sleeveless Harley shirt and tattoos. Just walk up and punch me so I will know it's you.

I've worn my colors in several bars during the Sturgus rally. I dont recall many by name off hand, except the dungeon bar on main. At least in '09 they permitted colors. Very cool bar too, both downstairs and in open air upstairs. One Eyed Jacks definitely does not permit your cut, allegedly b/c of the owners club affiliation (so I've been told, I don't know this personally).

Thanks for the info No Deal. I don't plan on hanging downtown for too long. Most of my time will be spent out riding to see the sights and at the campground at night to party. I'll be at the Chip.

You might find one or two bars, but I can't think of any offhand. They ban LEO and Firefighter and military cuts too.

As for a shirt, you might get away with a support shirt but I don't know.

Most will stop you at the door and ask you to leave your colors outside or ask you to reverse your jacket, vest, etc. (turn it inside out) I don't see anyone doing that, I think it is the door man just being polite and trying to give an alternative.
