Default Kentucky vacation

I,m considering a vacation to Kentucy this summer. Any suggestions on places to go and things to see? Good roads to ride? Places to stay? Planning a one week loop to Bowling Green, London, Pikesville, Lexington, and Elizabethtown.

Red River Gorge is not too far from London KY. Also some great riding around Big Stone Gap/Black Mountain just a little farther east

There are some great rides around here. Red River Gourge comes to mind. Old 25 that runs north to south is a good one. Natural Bridge, Cumberland Falls, Original Kentucky Fried Chicken in Corbin. Ft Knox, Kentucky Horse Park, Mammoth Caves, Carter Caves. Any secondary road in Eastern kentucky is normally a great ride. Cant speak for places to stay but camping in the state parks is really nice. Send me a message if you need more specifics. Have a great trip no matter what.

Like bourbon? The bourbon trail is a cool thing to look into and you would hit some great roads on it .There is also a bluegrass scenic ride that leads you around the beautiful horse farms here in central ky.
Where are you coming from?

Just north of Etown is Ft. Knox. The Patton museum is very interesting.

i live in bowling green so i know a little about the area. in bg you can go to the corvette museum and tour the plant. there is usually a corvette show about once a month.Beech Bend raceway is in town also. they have harley drags 3 or 4 times a year. big camping party like all the other ralleys! it would be good to plan your visit during one of these times! as far as riding their is some good back rodes around the north side of the county. also try and go to Mammoth Cave in edmonson co.

the farther you go east in ky you get more mountains. like others have said try and go to Cumberland falls, red river gorge, natural bridge,Cumberland gap, all this area is excellent riding & sight seeing!also Somerset ky has a large cruise in once a month with about 1000 plus cars.
in this area your only 2 hrs from gattlinburg if that was to interest you. but the riding is about the same just more crowded down there.
if you need any information on anything let me know and i will try and help.steven

In the southwest corner of Kentucky is an area called Land Between the Lakes. Nice ride through the area, and if you're camping, some great campgounds right on the lakeshore.
