The bride wants to do a vacation in Cape Cod this year so we started planning last night. Leaving in mid September and have a total of 9 days. Gonna make for some long riding days for sure but gonna make it fun.

Any suggestions on places to see or things to do along the way? Or even a scenic route to take?

On your way out through the finger lakes in new york a very nice that time of year lots of wine tasting if that's your thing. Another thing you can do is head up to Maine along the coast amazing views My father and I took a trip up there when i was young and still remember how amazing the views where.
Maybe take a day to go into Boston, lot of cool things there.

 

The tip of the cape is "interesting" if you are in that sort of thing. I have driven the route opposite from Taunton to Dallas. 1835 miles if you go through new york City which is a must do! You route would be I 30 to I 40 to I 81...skyline road near winchester VA is pretty cool as well as the 50 mile trip down to DC from winchester.
Take hiway one once you get into connecticut all the way around long island sound to stopping in new RI for a mansion tour. Maine is OK but the mountains in new Hampshire and vermont are also a must see...ride to Mt washington! Boston sucks to drive in but you can take the T from any outlying town and see Boston and cambridge.
