You might try fishing in Sheridan lake in the Black Hills, right off 385 or Sylvan lake off hi-way 87.

Staying in Deadwood is always fun but will be expensive that week

I ride into Sturgis, sometimes taking the scenic route there and back. So I've seen a lot of things. Quite frankly the highlight of all the miles was a night at the Cody Rodeo.
Grandslam has it right.

Watched a bull rider get medi-vacted. Those bull riders are freakin' crazy. Everyone of them limps, bad. They make NFL pros look candy ***. It runs every night all summer long. I don't know where they find so many riders.

Leave Billings in the morning and skip breakfast until you get to Red lodge, have breakfast at the Red Lodge cafe. Great food!

I don't remember but I think we left the KOA in Billings around 7am and must have been there around 0800-0830. There are not a lot of tables but we got right in and before we left there was a line to get in. Also for us, the day we did beartooth there was also some bicycle event and the mountain was full of people on bikes. Slowed us down some but going up the switch backs is slow going anyways. Not a ride you would want to rush through anyways with the views.
Heres a link to our trip, it covers a couple of the areas your heading to.

Darkrider...if you're thinking about leaving Billings and going for breakfast at the Red Lodge Cafe why not just stay in Red Lodge instead of Billings? It's only about 65 miles and Red Lodge is certainly more interesting than Billings. That time of year daylight lasts to 9:00 PM easy. Maybe I missed why and you already covered it. A fairly early morning ride up Beartooth is my favorite with the morning sun mostly at your back and highlighting the scenery.

I would give yourself 4 hours to go from Red Lodge over Beartooth and Chief Joseph to Cody

Basically its the way it worked out. We're flying into Billings around noon and picking up bikes a little later. I'll run it by my buddy
