Looks like a great time. I am confused though, did this ride happen 2 yrs ago or recently?

Was hoping SunPilot would respond to you, but since he has not (yet) I will tell you why I posted to the thread. Looks like his trip was 2 years ago but he just got around to posting picts in March of this year. Poidog brought the thread back to the top where I noticed it, just at the time when I happened to be making a similar run. I posted because it seemed such a strange coincidence that SunPilot's thread re-surfaced just at the time I was riding the same country, and by Some Strange Coincidence he had backed his bike down in to the same burned out hollow ("Goose Pen") in a Redwood on the Newton Drury that I had backed down in to for a pict.

Anyway, Newton Drury and Crater Lake are two of my favorite rides, right along with Bear Tooth Scenic, Going to the Sun, Southern Oregon 101, and North Rim Grand Canyon Cape Royal / Imperial. Guess those are my Top Six so far. SunPilots ride might have been 2 years ago; mine is happening now, but we seem to have very similar taste in our favorites.

I jumped into this thread just researching ideas for out trip. Several of the areas you mentioned are on our ride-plan...(tentative plan, anyway).

I'd rather not hi-jak SunPilot's thread. Would you mind posting your thoughts/ideas here? https://www.hdforums.com/forum/pacif...ummer-run.html Mahalo.

Sorry all, I didn't mean to abandon the thread...I just got back from Florida...did the Panama City Beach bike week. If anyone has any questions about this Pacific Coast ride, please feel free to fire away. I was a little amazed that the thread has resurfaced.

Absolutely a beautiful country.

To answer a previous question...the trip was a few years ago...left Phoenix, went through Vegas, up to Oregon and down the Oregon and Cali coast...
