Oatman, AZ to Kingman on Old Rt. 66, then take old Rt. 66 from Kingman to Ash Fork. From Ash Fork take 89 South to Prescott, from Prescott to Sedona, then 89A (Oak Creek Canyon) to Flagstaff. From there, there is not much except I-40 to Alb. There are a couple of places where you can get on Old 66 but you will have to look for them.

East of Holbrook, AZ cut through Petrified Forest(used to be free, now I think you have to pay NP fee). Then to US 180 to St. Johns, US 191 to Springerville, US 60 to Quemado, NM. Then NM hwys. 36 and 117 back to the 40. Between there and ABQ you can still pick up bits of old Rte. 66. Carry lots of water.

Unless you are going to Albuquerque for a reason, I wouldn't. What Billnourse said is spot on for riding. On US 60 between Globe and and Show Low is the Salt River Canyon. Then over to Eagar and US 191 south to Clifton. Then east on 78 to Silver City(nice town). Then down to Lordsburg, NM-Douglas, Az-Bisbee,Az.-Tombstone, Az.
From Show Low to Eagar, I recommend taking US 60 to save time. US 191 south from Eagar is one of the best rides in the US.
