Default Florida to California

Has anyone done it? Can a round trip be done comfortably in two weeks?

Jacksonville to San Diego and back is 4800 miles.
At 500 miles a day that is 10 days.
Only you can determine if that is a comfortable pace.

It certainly can be done, two weeks 14 days 340 miles everyday if your goal is to ride a lot you'll accomplish that. You can mix it up and put some 500-600 mile days in so you can spend some time in a few places. If I had to stick to a limited time schedule I would play it by ear and decide on the road how far you ultimately want to travel from home.

about 4700 highway miles.
6 hours in the saddle each day averaging 60mph (while in the saddle) = 13 days.
8 hours in the saddle each day averaging 75mph (while in the saddle) = just under 8 days.
6 hours a day at 75-77mph = 9 riding days.

yeah if your doing the cannonball run. but whats the point of doing such a trip if you cant stop and enjoy the sites, the people and experience the places you visit.

Ironically, my buddy and I are doing a Florida to So Cal trip up PCh to San Fran then to Sacremento back thru Reno, LV down thru AZ and back home I-40, with a few detours through AR. Luckily we have a month to do our trip...I know not everyone can do that.

I have been riding from S. FL to N. CA every year in the last 15 years, and I can say that it's absolutely doable, but not enjoyable within 2 weeks. 3 weeks or more is better, if you have a choice.
Happy riding!

I did NC to San Francisco back in 1978. 16 days and 6,900 miles. Was fun but I was much younger. I am going again in May/June 23 days. At this stage of my life I would want at least three weeks. It is doable. Had a friend ride the entire length of I-40 from Wilimington, NC to Barstow,CA. He left Friday am and arrived in Barstow on Sunday afternoon...... On a V-Rod. I think his mother may have dropped him on his head when he was a baby.
