Riding from Cleveland Ohio to Chamberlain, SD On June 12 Hope to make it in under 20 hours only stopping for gas (1094 miles) 7 bikes going Then on to Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills, Devils Tower, Deadwood, Sturgis, Custer Park, Wind Cave, And a few other places for the next 2 day and then a 2 day ride home With a run thru the Bad Lands. Everything is booked all stops are loaded in to the GPS. I can’t wait to go. I have done it 2 times before in my 20s then again in my 40s now one more time in my 60s. I have 2 GoPros mounted and hope to get some good video.

 

That sounds like a blast.

Have a great trip, nothing like a long ride. We are taking 4 weeks starting August 10 and heading as far northwest as Jasper Alberta then wander through, Montana, idaho, Wyoming, and South Dakota and most of the places you have on your list. This will be my first trip that way on two wheels, feel like a kid waiting for chrsitmas to get here.

 

I tried something different this year. Here is a picture of everyone that went meeting for the first time at 4am . We all talk on a Motorcycle riding message board here in Ohio but never met before this ride It was a great week we had a lot of Pirate verses Power Ranger conversations around the dinner table each night. 7 bikes went 2 Harleys Softail & StreetGlide , 2 Kaw Connie 14s, 1 Kaw Vulcan Voyager, Yamaha FJR1300 and a Gold Wing ages 27 to 64 everyone had over 10 experience on a street bike. All gas stops were between 120 to 150 miles and fast gas, pi$$, slam a candy bar and roll. We made the Iron Butt the first day easily I reset my trip log at my first gas stop by my house 1111 miles total for me. Total moving time 15:36 hours Total hours 20.27 hours Moving avg. 71.4 mph stopped time was 4.46 hours overall avg. 55 mph I will pass on posting Max speed but across the plains we were moving. This Trip was great fun and a great group of guys that I would ride with any time. I will post more pictures later and I have over 30 hours of GoPro video to go thru and edit. I ended the 5 day trip with a little over 3300 miles

I think they were more comfortable then I was and they corner better that any sport/touring bike I have ever seen everyone on the metrics had the fancy helmets so they were able to talk to each other while riding I think Im going to get 2 of them for my wife and I.
