NorCal Redwoods 3 days to kill Suggestions please
I'll be heading up to the redwoods in a few weeks from SoCal and am looking for routes. I don't like to stop and do a lot of sight seeing as it interferes with my riding. Solo trip. I plan on heading up the 5 to Red Bluff (I k now it will be hot on the 5) but I have done the coast all the way up and back numerous times and my only goal is to get there in one day.
The plan is stay in Red Bluff and then ride hwy 36, 299, 3 and 96. I have no route planned and don't care where I end up at the end of the day. I could camp or hotel it. Doesn't matter. Let me know the best spots up here so I can make sure I hit all the good roads please.
I went to college in Arcata so I am relatively familiar with the area but it has been a long long time since then. Long miles in a day 600-700 are fine with me as the goal is ride lots of miles.
Thanks for any suggestions you make.

Best road in the world is 140 miles from Red Bluff west to Fortuna on highway 36. 140 miles of twists. Turn right up to 299, then head toward Redding. Left on 5 to Mt Shasta, then go on highway 89 all the way to Lake Tahoe if you want. This road goes through Lassen Park, passes Burney Falls SP ( stop and see the waterfall), and ends at Topaz Lake NV. Go south from there to Monitor pass and circle back to Tahoe via Calif. side.
The above is several days ride and lots to see along the way. Black Bear Diner is great for good solid American food. Locations in Redding and Mt Shasta and other stops on the 5.
There's decent Chinese in Burney Ca not too far from 89.
