Default Snow in the Mountains

For all you people who have been planning trips to Colorado in September: We are now getting snow in the higher elevations. Pretty early this year.

I'll be riding Trail Ridge Road in a few days. I had seen that the Never Summer Mountains got some snow the other day.

Got some more last night. Mt. Evans Rd. and Loveland Pass both closed for a while. I can see the snow on the peaks along the Divide. It was below 50* this morning here in the southern 'burbs this morning, first time since June. Seems awful early this year. POOP.

Rode Trail Ridge and Loveland Pass today, no snow for either, afternoon thunderstorms with hail near Frisco, way better than yesterday riding over Snowy Range Pass in Wyo--snow and wind and heavy rain.

Bummer....! We bumped our annual trip to two weeks later than usual - had been missing the cooler weather and fall colors which were coming in just as we were leaving...for the past several years. So we postponed to last week in Sept / first week in Oct. We may have pushed too far. Oh well....still better than heat in Texas!
