HD Forums Group Ride (Green Chile Ride)
In 2007 a group of 42 HD Forums members got together and rode all the paved 10,000' passes (22) in Colorado in 5 days. Whiskers and I are thinking about doing the ride again in 2015, probably late August. You can see past Green Chile rides in the Southwest section of the forum.
We will be looking at 7 days for the ride, and the trip will cover most all the good Colorado Motorcycle roads. Silver Thread, Million Dollar Highway, Independence Pass, Mt. Evans, Pikes Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, San Juan Loop. Somewhere around 250-300 miles per day.
We would like to see how much interest there is before we go to the work of finding lodging, getting rates, deciding routes, etc.
This ride will be very informal with people encouraged to ride their own ride, do their own thing and then share experiences at the end of the day at a common lodging location. It is NOT a "joined at the hip" group ride where everyone is expected to stick together all the time.

The 2007 ride was called 'epic' by those who rode with us and it really was an incredible ride. We'll provide as much information as we can at the start of each day but the goal is for everyone to meet at a hotel at the end of the day. We don't particularly like riding in 'clumps' of 20-30 bikes as things can happen - safety first. We've met some great members on these rides and they've become long time friends. Bill and I have family commitments in June and July so we thought August would be best for 2015. Besides, its going to rain or snow in Colorado whenever we ride.
The name 'Green Chili Ride' came from our first get-together in Taos, NM. We all agreed to meet at a certain restaurant there for a cup of Green. Its become a tradition to toast the ride over a similar bowl. Not sure whether they found any in Arkansas, though.
