Baffle change after adding cams and decatting the headpipe?

Default Baffle change after adding cams and decatting the headpipe?

I have a 2012 Limited that has had Big Louie's with 2.50 baffles since day one. The bike has stage 1 screaming eagle air cleaner and super tuner. It currently has 30,000 miles on the clock and I added a set of Woods 222 cams and de-catted the headpipe. I am scheduled for a dyno tune in a week. My question is do I need to change to 2.25 baffles or will the original 2.50 baffles be OK? Also if I change to the 2.25 baffles after the dyno is done will it need to be re-dynoed?

Since no one has chimed in I will throw in my 2 cents. I have been researching these pipes a lot and have a similar setup with cams (you will love the 222's btw). You shouldn't NEED to change baffles but it will run better and be easier to tune. You may get slightly better #'s with the smaller baffles. You can change them at anytime and it should be ok but I would change them before the tune if you plan on riding that way to get your money's worth.


It will be significantly louder with headpipe and cams so the 2" or 2.25" may be in order anyway.

Not sure whats going on with the forum but I just saw this today, sorry for the delayed reply! I recommend the 2.25" with aftermarket (open) head pipes of any type. It should be ok to go from 2.50" to 2.25" after tuning, I would change before the tune. The 2.25" provides more back pressure and will create a larger bottom end power gain. It's also the most popular. If you put on lots of highway miles or listen to a radio, the lower volume of the 2.00" might work better for you. The 2 and 2.25 have very similar power gains so I would base it off sound with the 2.25" being a bit louder. You can use the 2.50" and some people really like it! Most people prefer the 2.25".

I just ordered mine with the 2.00" baffle today. Figured I can always try the 2.25" at a later time...
