Default True Duals

Recent install, True Duals on '09 Ultra, unknown brand of 4" slip-ons. Remapped the PCV. This setup is hard to beat, Rush, with ceramic coating is superior to other brands. Just ordered a set of Big Louie's with 2.00" baffles, can hardly wait...

Runs, looks good. Tinny sound. Guess that's right?

Hi kjobe, just saw this post. Sorry for the delayed reply. The big louie 2.00" with true duals is a great setup that should have a deep solid tone. In my opinion very far from tinny sounding. Could you please discribe the sound more? I would like to help make sure we have a satisfied customer. Maybe we could try a different baffle size.

Tinny is probably not the correct term. At idle, with turn of throttle as RPM drops sounds like something is loose inside muffle. This did not occur with the D&D Boss mufflers. I have checked torque on all bolt, nuts, screws. Defective heat shield clamp has been replaced, no change. Other than this they do sound as you describe.

Forgot, the Independent ordered these as "blemish", thought that would mean issue with appearance only, not performance. Other than the "B" stenciled on the inlet pipes I cannot find any flaws.

I appriceate your concerns, thanks

Do you think it's a baffle rattle? The finish of a blem set is not covered under warranty but they should still sound great. If you're not positive please check with your local dealer or some buddies to get their input. Sometimes it will only rattle at a specific rpm. I can most likely help if that's causing the noise.

The baffles are tight, I torqued all four prior to installing. The "rattle" is only at idle when the throttle is slightly opened and released.

I only mentioned "blemished", to confirm this would be cosmetic only, no affect on perform. I don't have issue with blemish

~1000 miles, no more "tinny" sound. New mapped for DynoJet for PCV, excellent sound and setup. Very pleased
