I've had the 3" on my FLHTK (stock pipes/cat) for a little over a week. All I can say is it was exactly what I was looking for! Awesome low growl and my buddies with V&H/Rineharts are admitting these sound better than their exhaust and already wanting to trade ....

So they do have a lower base kind of sound? That's what I'm looking for. With the 3" baffle if need be can you go in the city and keep the sound down with low rpm if you need to? How about cruising speed?
I was thinking 2 1/2" to keep the sound under control.

To Ryan, do the 3 and 2 1/2" both have the same low tone, and would the performance be a bit better with the smaller one?
Thanks, guys.

How about cruising speed? My radio is great at 1/2 volume, low rumble is felt more than heard

There's no way I'm trading for 2 1/2's ........ I really like the 3" and so has just about anyone that's heard my scooter. Compliments abound!

Thanks Ryan. One last question...I like the Performance Machine Elite Merc Exhaust Tips. Do you know if they will fit the 4" diameter Big Louie's?

I'm not aware of any other tips that will fit our exhaust. It's a tight tolerance on the mounting collar of the tip to ensure a good fit.

The 3.00" has a deeper tone and is louder than the 2.50". Performance differences are minimal. The stock headers restrict the air flow so the size really only effects the sound.
