With the heat, vibration, and water getting splashed onto hot pipes how long before the ceramic coating starts cracking and flaking off? I would think the lifespan of the ceramic coating is relatively limited in real world usage. Will this coating even last to 50, 000 (5 yrs) ?

 

We ceramic coat the pipes and the heatshields are chrome or black high temp powder coat. I've seen bikes with over 40,000 miles and ones with over 5 years. I'm certain there are customers with more but that's all I've seen with my own eyes. It will eventually look a bit dull and get a few spots but overall it'll still hold up and serve its function to prevent rust and insulate heat. It's also hidden by the shields. If the coating cracks or flakes off during the first year that would be covered under warranty.

I had a set on my '11 FLTRU, 3 years and 30,000 miles the pipes still looked new under the shields.

I have a brand new set on my '14 FLHTK.
