Default 2014- Ultra, BL w/3.0 Baffle

I purchased the BL with a 3.0 baffle and all I can say is- WOW. I love this thing! It is heart thumping sweet!!!

Thanks Rush.

But, I really want to dump the cat and want to understand the tuning difficulties. Where can I get this thing tuned? and what do I need to ask a tuner?

Thanks for choosing Rush and posting! When you upgrade the headers we recommend using the 2.00" or 2.25" baffles. This will provide some back pressure to help with tuning and performance. The 2.50" is the largest that can be used with open head pipes but those can be difficult to tune. I recommend working with a local shop for tuning. As long as you drop down the baffle size, there shouldn't be any issues. Let them know what size baffle you are running, any engine mods, and they should be able to set the bike up with a good tune! Dyno tuning is best but the auto-tune or plug and play systems work great as well.

thank you, but- can it be done?

it seems I read here that someone has accomplished a tune with clear head pipes and a three in baffle.

any recollection?

It can be done but we strongly recommend against it. It will be obnoxiously loud and low end power will suffer. The 2.50" is the largest we recommend with open headers.
