Washington State says once it’s registered into someone’s name that makes it used has nothing to do with mileage just was it previously owned.

 

So OP, did you find out anything today?

 

That's my understanding as well. They called me back today and said that, they have it all straightened out and I will get my plates and registration in a few days. I just hope it's right.

 

My bet says paperwork error.

 

BINGO ! That's exactly what they claimed. I'll see what the paperwork looks like and go from there.

 

My plates came today. Just as i thought they would do. They took the registration that would say ""used" and renewed the plates to cover that up. Then sent me a renewed registration without that info on it. Even the the registration is wrong. It shows for a yellow bike, mine is Red. I guess I better head over to their County Clerks Office and get this looked at.

 

Whats crazy is you had a bike for two months with no tags. I take it you get a temp tag from the delaer to get the bike home? What great state do you reside in?

 

I'm in TN. Yes I have been riding this long on a paper drive out tag. Anyway I have my plate and I'm happy about that. It's a good bike and I'm enjoying it. Things could be worse. I could have gotten stuck with a Lemon or something. I Decided to just go and enjoy the bike and let it go. Thanks for all your support.

 

When I got my glide new in 2011. The dealer makes you wait up to 30 days for the paperwork. I got it and registered it with the state. Got the title back. I get a call from the dealership asking to check the title with the VIN on the bike. It was wrong. I titled the wrong bike. The dealership and DVM didn't find the mistake. I didn't either. They didn't know there was a mistake till someone bought a bike like mine and then they realized they gave me the wrong paperwork. I brought my paperwork in and got the correct paperwork for my bike. It worked out for me but the other guy? He was in the same boat as you. Bought a new bike with a previously registered title. Hope you get it ironed out. I'd push the dealer for a gift card or extended warranty or more? HMT
