Default 1/2 gallon

I have put gas in within a couple miles of the lo light coming on and it is almost always a half gallon left. I never ran it out though.

Do you have one of the new 6.1 gallon tanks?

No, he has the official HD tank that holds 6.2 gallons of gas. I guess you got screwed if your tank only holds an exact 6.0 gallons. The official HD size is 6.0 gallons but most will hold 6.2 and the Road King about 6.14 or so. Here are two threads about it. I have put in 6.1 gallons in mine and have the pictures to prove it.

Knowing what you're talking about is relative ... The advertised capacity and actual capacity are generally close but ... they are advertised at 6 gallons, however due to manufacturing tolerances ( in most cases ) they will hold a bit more ... No need to get high and mighty about it ... .1 gallon sure isn't going to get you far and odds are you will never be able to suck it dry anyway ...
