Default 2016 110 cvo

Stock throttle body, stock heads. 259E cams, V&H headers, CFR mufflers. Coughs and backfires, terrible gas mileage. Any tuners in a can? None around here.

Doubt you will find a canned map or tune for that combination.

The 259E is a very good came, but likes more compression than you have, its best with 10.8 or more compression. It needs the compression to keep good torque at lower RPMs and to make HP at the top.

CFR mufflers are hard to tune, they do not have enough back pressure, and are not good for low end torque. Best sounding muffler in my opinion, however they do not perform well.

I had A V&H FP3 on my last bike
that would allow you to choose cam and exhaust map.

A 259 cam with less than 10:5 to 1 is the wrong choice.

Maybe try some slip one with a little more back pressure?

Was the 110 upgrade kit (SE259 cam, 10.5 pistons, clutch spring, Super Tuner) installed? After verifying the cam timing is OK, ( simple compression test with ACRs disabled), sell those mufflers, install a set of Crushers, and retune it. A road trip to Wide Open Cycles in Fredericksburg, MD would be well worth your time & $.

It's a CVO 110, not a 103 built to 110. Pistons are lower compression, 9.9 I believe.

Crusher mellows are a good choice for mufflers

The 110 upgrade kit ( made for CVOs prior to the advent of the 117 kits) uses the original CVO cylinders & heads, and upgrades the cams, pistons, clutch spring, and adds a tuner. Common upgrade for CVOs, hence the question. Stock CVO compression is 9.3, BTW.

Okay, I didn't know about that kit. I also did not realize the 110 compression was that low. Thanks

Then again, I didn't use the HD 117 kit, other than the cylinders when I built my 13 CVO King for the second time. I would have lost power with the 117 Kit over my built 110.
