Default Us CVO'ers are has beens LOL

I have to wonder if us CVO forum members are now the HAS BEENS. The threads are pretty small. I think the M8 Forum has taking some or a good portion of our conversations. When you go to a dealer the first thing out of a salesmans mouth is "the new M8 is better than the old 110 CVO". I personally think a lot of new buyers are going with the M8 107. And I get it if your on a budget. And you don't even have to be on a budget if you want to be truly different on making your 107 a unique bike. And yeah it's my two cents worth here so chime in your thoughts.

I was going to wait till the 17's came out but the deal I got on my 16 cvo sg was way to good to pass up. I could care less what the salesman says to me at other dealers. I love my bike and don't think I will ever let it go, not saying I wouldn't buy a new one just like this one to much.

I specifically waited until the 17's came out to see the changes and wanted to get one. So... I did just that. Not sure if we r to be considered has been maybe crazy might be a better word. Ha Ha. Jk. That is what I wanted so I got it.

Yeah I agree the 16's are very nice and I am fortunate to ride a 15,16 and now 17. It just seems the conversations have really died down here on the CVO forum side. Could just be me and I truly know the CVO ain't a has been but figured gotta get some attention to get some feedback. And here's my 15,17 and 16 which I am keeping:

I agree with the conversations drooping, could be the cold, wet, cabin fever setting in. The CVO 110's won't drop out of style for some time, the dealers are still sitting on a lot of 16 inventory. I did ride a 2017 CVO Liimited and came away quite surprised, but no more than a new set of tires or Ohlins shocks. The engine is improved, almost to the same extent as the price. I have decided to send my Ohlins out for a rebuild, took the bike to the bulders, had the heads and cylinders decked to 10.2CR, already had the 57H cams, 2/1/2 SS header and came out with 108hp and 122 lb/ft torque. That should take care of this season if and when it gets warm again.

I don't know if the 107 114 or 110 is the better motor, old reliable twin cam or new better M8 . I do know if i am going drop 40g it will be today's and tomorrow technology I hope, and two more things the seat height was lowered in 2017 compared to 2016 that effected me, and i turn 65 this year so if not now when ? I got mine in November so I had a whole two week to ride before weather set in so spring can not come soon enough. I reread this and I sound scatter-brain and I am anxious for spring .

My 16 110 with a stage 1 is a great motor IMO. It pulls much harder than my stage 1 103 in my 12 FB. It's been a little over a year since I bought it, and have zero regrets. I won't me in the market for another bike for a while.

Silver, I hope one day my garage could be filled with the same toys you have. Want to adopt me?

I do not think CVO'ers are has beens.

1. Its winter in much of the country.

2. HD has drastically cut back production of CVO's for 2017.

3. This cut back is causing dealers to push the 107 with a stage III.

The dealer I use has usually sold 12~15 CVO touring bikes by January. For the 17 model year he has got 4 CVO Street glides, and 3 CVO limiteds and that's it. He could have sold a lot more by now. He has got less than half the CVO touring bikes for 17, as he had for 16 by this time.

Yes, a stage I or stage II is real close to the performance of a stock 110 CVO. However, the 114 is just as much ahead of the 107 as the 110 was ahead of the 103.

My wife has the 17 Road Glide Special, I have the 17 CVO Street Glide.
