I had that problem with my 2015. You can fix it by using the key to lock and then the fob to unlock or vice versa. It's like a combination between the key and fob to get it to work right.

But if the lids are left open, and locked with FOBs the Thumb Lever is locked every time with no problem...
Locking saddlebags with key is what I'm doing til it goes for the 1k service...
