I just bought the diamond stitch version of the seat for my 16 RGS. I was considering getting the 2 strips that go on the fender but use a Hammock seat for when I go on my long runs. Will the seat mount over the strips? My fender has dull spots from the hammock already and it'd be nice to have the ability to protect the fender from any further damage.

No, won't fit with the strips. However, I dremelled the bottom of my hammock seat where it contacted the strips on my 2017 cvo sg, and now it can be mounted. But just in stock form, no way.

I have the strips on my 14 CVO Road King, and have had a few different hammock seats (rushmore and pre-rushmore versions) and they have worked fine with the strips.

 

I put the 14 RK CVO seat on my standard RK and the passenger seat was a little loose I ordered the pads 11100024 and installed, now the passenger pad fits nice and snug.

 

My 2013 cvo came with the strips and I have used a hammock seat on top of the strips for 4 years with no issues either to the seat or the strips.

 

I just bought a zeppelin air seat for $90 and it fits over the strips. I intend to use that for longer trips but keep my CVO seat on for shorter runs.
