Default trade

I would not have done this, except I know I have no plans to sell this bike. Its my hot rod. My touring CVO gets traded every two years and stays close to stock. This bike is a blast to ride, and easier to ride than any stock Harley.[/QUOTE]

How much does it cost to trade every 2 yrs ? Is that a cvo model touring that you trade ? Is the cost to trade pretty consistent every time . Im always trying to figure out when the best time to unload is .

Yes, It has been a CVO touring bike every time. 09 CVO Road Glide, 12 CVO Road Glide, 15 CVO Road glide Ultra.

I bought the 09 just before summer of 10. Put 46K on it and got 26000 out of the trade, paid 32,000 for it. Paid 32000 for the 12, and put 47K miles on it, got 27000 for it on trade for the 15 CVO Road glide ultra. Paid 40,000 for it.

So I did great on the first two trades. 3 years between the 12 and 15 because I bought the 13 CVO King and put 14K on it the first years so the 12 sat a bit.

The 15 I got 29000 in trade for the 17. The 17 was 38000. The 15 had 45K miles on it also . I took a hit hard on this one, as the 16 CVO road glide ultra was not selling well. When the 17 CVO's came out you could by a new 16 CVO Road glide ultra for 35K, so they sure weren't giving top dollar.

The 09 and 12 sold very well, and were very popular. In fact the 12 Skunk I traded, was sold the next day before it ever hit the floor.

I think I will do more like the 09, and the 12 when I go to trade the 17. They have yet to have one on the floor for more than 24 hours.

The 13 will not be traded or sold at this point in time.

My collection of 22 H-Ds has examples of all the H-D families, nostalgia bikes, show bikes, and show off bikes (CVOs) and the 120R was to have a drag bike category. No need for me to twist the throttle at all.

I have been looking for some light weight talented rider to run it at the Cordova Dragway to see what it will do. At 76 yoa my days of doing that have long passed.

Get what you need for any build to start.
Good A/C Max $150
Good exhaust, Full sac or good 2-1 Dragos 2 $7-900
Tuner....Use one of your friends if they have a PV $200 license to use on your bike.

Then put a Rivera game changer <$200.
