Screamin Eagle Horsepower / Torque

RE: Screamin Eagle Horsepower / Torque
I share some of the same thoughts as 08CVORK on the dyno testing. I don't want my bike put through that kind of stress. You guys are probably right in that it won't hurt it but I have no desire to see it beat to hell and back for a couple extra horsepower. I went with common components and had the dealer download the SERT and the bike runs great. No idea how much horsepower or torque she is putting out but it runs well.
Without a doubt, a dyno will give you optimum results but I chose to go the conservative way.

RE: Screamin Eagle Horsepower / Torque
I just got my Dyna Custom in July, and I believe there is no replacement for displacement. So I went BIG. Screamin Eagle 113" BIG. After my 500 mile break-in, they retuned the fuel map, and it made 110HP and 114TQ. Thats with a D & D 2-into-1 pipe and the stock throttle body. But man does it go. Also, for those that have factory built SE 110engines, due to EPA requirements, they have smaller cams than the SE Upgrade kit. Upgrade kits to 110 and 113" get the SE-264 cam.

ORIGINAL: detonator
nothing else done to motor yet . getting ready for a sert! have open a/c and se exhaust withmodified Exh.baffles. havent run on a dyno yet.

The new screamin' eagle catalog has pictures of the new heads, and I think they're a good design. The old style bathtub performance heads worked ok, but the chambers were way too small for a big motor. These new heads(with a little cleanup) are perfect for a 110 or 113. Thanks for the pics, what else have you done to the motor?

maybe I'm lucky, but I installed the Thundermax on mine the first day I brought it home, no leaks yet..........(crossed fingers)
I have Rush slip-ons on it now with the 2.25" baffles, it's runnin' good!

RE: Screamin Eagle Horsepower / Torque
Never had my '07 SE Road King on a dyno yet as I've only added the Rush slip-ons w/2" baffles, however, the owner's manual states that the engine makes makes torque of 115 ft-lbs @ 3,000-rpm that is probably at the crankshaft, not the rear wheel. Rider Magazine's October 2006 edition dyno'd the bike at 83.2-hp & 96.3-tq that sounds about right.
I bought mine in October '06 & am waiting for the aftermarket to catch up. I've heard so many performance ideas from different dealers that I want to see the prooffrom their dyno runs before I spend any $ as they're all over the place w/their recommendations.
Regarding one of the basics like exhaust, it seems as if the general sentiment of the dealers who've actually done some testing is that the true duals don't do anything on the 110 motor. I was ready to buy the Rineharts w/the SERT, dyno tuning & all & am glad that I held off as this would've cost over $2-k & for what?
My own dealer ran a 22% off coupon on anything for parts & I opted for the Rush slip-ons that I had them install out the door for about $350. Before I actually bought them, I went back to their service department & one guy told me that I should do the SERT & dyno tuning in conjunction. He called another guy to get him to confirm & that guy said that doing the SERT w/dyno tuning for the Rush slip-ons was a waste of time & $ so, I was confused & disenchanted just like every time I talk to a different dealer. It'd be nice if they would all agree on something.

Dyno Results
I just got the results from my Dyno tune. I have a 2008 Springer Screamin Eagle FXSTSSE2. I added Bob Woods cams...575 lift / 240 duration. 10.5 : 1 Screamin Eagle pistons, had it tuned with the Pro Super tuner, Vance & Hines Big Radius Pipes. Came stock with the heavy breather air filter.
Results were very impressive, thought I'd get more HP but the torque is awesome.
Max HP = 103.52
Max Torque = 124.19
Crossover point right at 5200 RPM's
Almost ripped my arms off out of the hole.
Sweet.
