Default 2008 SERK Tack & Spedo Problem

Just picked up a new blue. 08 SERK on Thursday of this week. Spedo and Tack work fine until after after I shut it off after a two hour ride home then nothing. The light would not shut off so I un hooked the battery. Next morning hook battery back up and spedo works. Rode it for a couple hours turned the bike off went to restart it and no spedo and tack. Un hooked battery last night, re attached it this morning and spedo works again. Any idea's.

This bike will run. The 110 motor is a perfect match for the six speed. No need to downshift to pass, just roll on the trottle and away you go. Had an 07 roadglide with the 96. No comparison with throttle response in six gear.No lugging going up a hill in six gear. The clutch is either engaged or not. Clutch pull also seams to be harder. Love the bike and the paint is unreal.

Hope the speedo/tach problem is nothing too serious for your HD dealer to solve. Meanwhile, I do hope you post many pics.. I too have an 08 Blue SERK on order, and so far the only pics I have seen have been a few I've found online, and of course the dealers brochure, none ofwhich are real good. Any new pics would be appreciated. I did drive an 07 SERK, loved it, thats why I ordered a new 08. I know what you mean about just rolling on the throttle.. "Giddy Up"!!

ps: I had a similar problem happen with my sons Sporty, dealer discovered that it was not charging properly.

Good luck.

HJP I had the same problem with my SERK Black and Silver (see photo). I did not disconect the battery all the time - what a pain that would be!! Sometimes the unit would work and other times it would not. It stayed on after I turned the bike off, but would eventually go out. It also seemed that most times but not always the alarm symbol (red key) would stay on or flash when the speedo was not working. Turned out to be a bad unit. Dealer got me a new one with 1K on it and R&Red it and all seems fine so fare --- about 600 miiles. Take back to the dealer!!
