2013 CVO RGC clutch issue
Just got off the phone with my guys over at the Harley shop. I brought it in to get it dyno'ed and they told me that they couldn't do the run properly because the clutch is slipping. I put V&H Power duals and Monster rounds with the T-Man 555 Torqster cam on it and they said I need a heavier spring for the power it's putting down. They are looking for a solution for me. I figured come talk to the pros on the forum and see if anyone has encountered this issue. If you have a 2013 and you've done similar mods, have you encountered this problem and if so, what was your solution? From how they explained it to me, it is on the '13 models that they changed the clutch. Just looking for other options and opinions on what I should do. I knew it didn't feel right, but I couldn't explain what I was feeling. Now this makes sense. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I'm not aware of any clutch changes and as far as I know they put the same spring that is used in production 103 police bikes in the cvo bikes as well. Mine slipped in mostly stock configuration. So I opted for the cheapest solution to eliminate slipping. I installed the SE clutch diaphragm spring. It's a bit harder on the clutch hand. Especially in heavy traffic. But it doesn't slip any more either!

All four of Harley’s 2013 CVO models receive a “New Assist & Slip Clutch Pack” with its slip feature aimed at reducing loading of the driveline during downshifts. Its new internals are claimed to give the clutch pack a longer life. The clutch lever itself has been reshaped to reduce reach slightly while they’ve adjusted the hydraulic clutch actuation to make for an easier pull at the lever, too. Harley says peak force required has been reduced by 10% while hold-in force has been cut by 17%. In real-world application, the 2013 CVO Breakout still required a firm squeeze to pinch the lever in while clutch lever action on the 2013 CVO Road King was light and easy to modulate.

Well, I got the bike back today and I didn't have to change the clutch yet, but they said it's going. They recommended I use it until it's gone, then I will have to replace. Looking at the AIM VP-Charger 120R kit. I called them today after reading some post and a few folks suggested them. They said they were working on a prototype for the 13 CVO's, but no where near production yet. If it's not done by the time my clutch goes, they said I could use this kit and just change out the clutch hopper with a older non CVO version and use this kit and it can handle the hp and torque from my upgrades.

It does have a slipper clutch however this is not your problem, been using slipper clutch on high hp race bikes for a few years now with no issues, it helps in down shifting without locking the rear wheel under heavy decel.
You have a clutch problem and Harley aint likely to cover it because of the mods you installed, you might as well throw down the skins for a new clutch and since you spent the money on hp, your gonna have to spend it on the next weak link in the system. HP = $, it's an old story we have known for years.
Now, I just gotta ask, why are you adding hp to a 855 lb road bike that you ride solo...
Maybe you chose the wrong bike!
