Saddlemen do it yourself gel pads
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using/installing the Saddlemen do it yourself gel pads. My back gets real sore after 500 miles on my 13 Road Glide CVO and I haven't found another seat that l liked or one that was even brown like on the bike.
Thanks,

Your back hurting..... can you post a pic of your seat, then another with you on it and in riding position? From what you allude to, the gel pack will only help just a bit, but on your butt.. take a look at some mini high rise bars... that should allow you to ride with a better posture...

There are basically two riding positions:
forward lean (like a snow skier, leaning into the wind and putting some weight on your toes, palms, and upper thighs--and off your butt, but you will be looking out the top of your eye ware), and the sit-up-and-beg position (sitting straight up, weight evenly balanced between all contacts points....but very tiring if no wind deflector).
It's the 'in between' position of those two that usually creates problems... lower back; sore butt; sore neck and shoulders (if no wind deflector). Depending on what 'hurts' can tell you what you need to change. Some of us have (like me) a longer torso which can easily lead to
lower back issues, unless my bars allow a more upright position: pic of my RK and it's bars. I'm 6'4 240 so there is a lot of me to get comfortable, but with the right position, i can ride all day...either way; forward, no wind shield, or upright, with wind shield, or up right, no windshield and not going over 65mph.
