Good question. I'm still running the stock CVO ventilator. I will moving up to either the FM 117 or the S&S 124 soon and will want to look for a different/better intake.

I have had the SE heavy breather on 2 touring bikes . The normal size one on the 07 and the compact version on the 2013. The compact works with hard lowers. I had the ventilator on my 2011. They all work great. None of the SE heavy breathers were an issue with room for the leg. As for air flow even a stock AC with a higher flow filter will provide more air flow than your build can use.
The only advantage to the ventilator it cover throttle body. The Heavy Breather does not and some prefer the cover either in Chrome or Black. Picture shows the chrome one on my 2013. Either one install is so simple my 5 year grandson could almost do it.
Avoid the cheap copies like Arlen Ness cheap is just that Cheap. If you want to try something different and at a fair price check out Fuel Moto.

I have the stock Ventilator and I prefer it. I run a K&N element and my dyno numbers are 103hp and 111 tq. Works for me.

But I would like to see other cover options for the Ventilator.
