Default Okay CVO Riders serious question

I am currently on an 09 Electra Glide Classic which I have easily spent 10k in upgrades with Bars 103 upgrade and more.
My wife and I do a lot of traveling on the bike and plan on a bunch more.
Seriously considering a 15 CVO as I have 63k miles on mine.
So my question is: are the CVO bikes good long distance travelers? Looking hard and moving to the new RoadGlide

I've got a CVO RK (2014). Bloody brilliant. Covered 600 miles in one day, lovely ride, cruise control was a bonus. I love the new frame and brakes. All round very pleased.

As an early CVO owner (original owner paid an outrageous $22,000 for her back in Feb '00,!!!) I knew that with what I did with a bike from the standpoint of miles would destroy her resale. (But I'll never sell it.) And for what a CVO costs nowadays, the high mileage hit on resale would be astronomical IMO. Used CVO buyers want low mileage. Today I would buy a stock Road Glide or Ultra, dress it up to my standards and ride the wheels off of it instead of paying the extra $10,000 for the CVO trim. They are both good touring mounts.

I test rode the RoadGlide standard today and came away impressed. I need the Ultra to fit my needs but I found this Standard to be nicer than the 14 Ultra Limited I rented for 2 days

The 110" motors have been known to have problems with the lifters ripping apart the inside of motors. There also have been problems with the valve springs guides acting up too. Also the comp. Sprockets is like on the 4th improvement.

To be fair, it's not just the 110" motors.

I would highly recommend the ESP program with the amount of mileage that you put on! Some say it's not worth it. It's insurance and that's what it is. I am one of the thankful ones as mine has payed for itself many of times!!!!

The CVO's are awesome motorcycles and come stock with a lot of goodies.

The Road Glides just bring a whole nother level to the endless smile on your face!

Good luck with your choice!

I came off a Goldwing GL1800 (undeniably the king of touring bikes) to my current CVO. I couldn't be happier!

I'll sort of agree with this... its like you can still easily buy a 1999 corvette with under 25k original miles on it I will ride mine all I want BUT if my intention was to race to 100k as soon as possible I would have bought a "normal" dresser the 110 is nice but by the same token that HO 103 is perfect for the big dressers

Lucky bastard....the CVO RK in '14 is brilliant and puts many others to shame. I'm finding me one when my next lotto ticket hits the numbers!
