Default Need to replace speedo cable...what ratio?

For my '83 FLHS....when I put the front forks back on, guess didn't do enough graceful curve on the speedo cable and the next day she popped on be as I zipped up an onramp. Speedo wont budge....and rubbing sound coming from cable.

So going to swap meet up in Keene NH this Sunday with some buds....if I see a cable, what ratio should I get? Standard FLHS otherwise...4 spd.

The Cable aint got anything to do with the ratio!
Are you needing the Drive unit?

There are two sizes of nuts for the speedo - bring yours to match.

Some speedo cables have different size fittings-nuts, whatever you want to call them, that thread onto the speedo as well, depending on the make- that and the length are kinda important.

I figured they were all one unit....but they're not? The unit on the hub of the wheel detaches?

//gotta look closer.
