I have an 81 fxwg wide glide, should kick on the 3rd or 4th kick, Did my usual stuff through the years to maintain this, not happening these days, any suggestions just blurt them out ,I'll weed through the stuff I have already done, figure i'll get more info this way.

Thanks

Lemme get this straight. a 1981 Dyna???
Kick start Dyna?
Anyway, Undo the last thing you done. Generally brings things back to normal...Otherwise the typical Shovelhead [Dyna??] tune-up!

I was laughing at the Dyna part too.

Everytime I go to HD for parts and tell them 1985 Wide Glide, they go right for the Dyna books. Have to correct them every time.

so much info missing to help - you could list what the bike has - lots of guys with hi compression pistons and a hot cam would use the kicker and the starter button at the same time - or are u just kicking it - remember the fuel today is garbage

Is your manifold to head bands sealed up good?def turns into a bitch to start when you have a leak. Spark plugs clean? Valves adjusted properly?

Are you actually working on this motorcycle, or are you just poking around the forum looking for answers for someone else?

Note: the OP posted this same question in the general forum a week ago.
