Default Rocker oil gauge

Hi,

My '73 shovelled has an aftermarket oil gauge connected to the furthest back rocker arm end bolt and I don't like it hanging on there - and it leaks a bit of oil.

Are these things of any use or is it safe enough to remove them and have the bike as I think they were as standard and just run the normal see vice schedule.

Thanks

You can remove it. They are of limited use since once hot a shovel will have very little oil pressure at idle. The idiot light on the oil pump is sufficient to warn you if you lose oil pressure entirely. If you want to keep an oil gauge they make one that connects to the top of the tappet screen plug or you can get a handle bar mounted gauge.

I have yet to see a need for an oil pressure gauge...Course I only been owning a Shovel for 30 some years...
