Default 1980 Sturgis Worth?

I had a 1980 Sturgis mostly stock, fall into my hands and I've been trying to restore it.. I don't really know what I've got here..I've had some guys tell me they are a dime a dozen, and I've had others offer me twice the value for it..
I've researched and know the history behind the first belt drive, but how rare or important is it? I was under the impression it was just an old bike sitting in the back of someones garage...

Some guy was on here a while ago trying to sell a knock off of the bike you described. Post some pictures.

Well I have one in my sig, but it won't show up for some reason. Let me figure out how to put it in a post. I can almost guarantee it's not a knockoff...with 53,000 miles on it, and showing, it's definitely original for the most part...spare a few parts that wear down over time...

Haha nope, no flames on this one..at least intentional ones anyways...Pretty sure this one is original, besides the seat, exhaust, mirrors, and i'm sure a few other small parts. Even has the AMF logos on the tank. I can't get pictures uploaded at the moment, keeps giving me error messages, so this will have to wait I guess.

pretty clean looking scoot; I'd change the fluids and start riding it...keep it as it is

That's pretty much what I've done with it so far. I have replaced a few parts that were broken, and changed the clutch cable and handle since the clutch pretty much didn't work anymore. Other than that I've already got 150 miles on it and it purrs like a grumpy kitten!
