Default carb time

it may be time for a new carb for out shovel it has a Mikuni 40 on it now that is not in good shape the en-richener don't work starts hard but it runs ok when it is running so I am thinking of a new 42 or an s&s so I was looking for some input thanks

If it sat dormant for 6 years...it needs more than a carb me thinks...

If the carb you have is a flat slide HS40, it is a great carb.

They stopped making them in the early `90s, but rebuild parts are still available.

I would get a rebuild kit and a gallon can of Berrymans carb cleaner, strip the carb and soak all the parts in the cleaner overnight.

Unless of course you just have an itch for a new carb...

I saw an HS40 at a swap meet yesterda; priced at 200 bucks

bring it to a boat yard and have them sonic clean it for you - it will be spotless when you get it back or dont pay them

its all we use in the shop

maybe I will take it apart one more time and see if I missed anything
