Default New to me '77 FL

I currently work at Doc's Harley of Shawano County. As you can imagine, I see a lot of bikes come in as trade-ins. Last week, the dealership took in a '77 FLH shovelhead. For whatever reason, the bike struck me and after staring at it for 3 days, I asked the dealership manager about buying it. He gave me all kinds of grief about wanting to buy a Shovelhead. Said I would never get to ride it because it would always be broke down. His warning aside, I bought it anyway and took it home.

Yesterday, on my day off, I called the previous owner of the Shovel and asked him if he could give me any info or history on the bike. Turns out that about 5,000 miles ago, he had the entire bike torn down, repainted, rebuilt and rewired. Didn't really think too much about it figuring the guy was just saying that since he no longer owned it.

So, imagine my surprise when the previous owner shows up at the dealership today and says that he has "a few parts for me". Take a look.....

The first pic is my new to me bike.
The next 3 pics are of all of the parts loaded into my 4 door jeep.

I have yet to sort through all of the parts and pieces but I do know that there is the fairing with the dash, 4 lower saddlebags, 6 lids, 2 sets of saddlebag support rails, 2 seats, a luggage rack and a tour pack.

Any info or help would be great.

I'll get some better pics tomorrow afternoon after work. These were taken with my cell phone.

Thanks man. I'll tell them tomorrow when I go to work. As you can imagine, with the weather we had today, it was nuts. LOL

those ugly pieces at the antique swap meets have come back into favor - and will at times bring good money - it it were mine i would put it back with them on as it was one of those special units then sell it to a museum

I'll Go with John on the above. Looks to me like that fairing is the Tour Glide Style [frame mounted] Bags and lids as well as Rails never go out of Style nor Loose their market value...
You want rid of some of that? LMK..I don't need it...but know folks who do.

that white fairing is called the "Liberator" and was made for Harley by Vetter. They're fairly rare, an early version of the Tour Glide/Road Glide family.

Nice score on the bike, and an even better score on the extra parts. Get yourself an HD service manual and a parts manual.

The Heritage Softail leather bags on there will definitely haul more stuff, but the original figerglass bags (with or without the rails that look to be part of your new stash) just look better IMHO. Any chance he gave you the pogo seat setup? You should give the tractor seat install a consideration at least (or even think about a buddy seat... a bit large and ugly though). The pogo set up takes away a lot of the hard ride associated with the older iron.

...rebuilt and rewired...? Did he give you any info on who did the rebuild or what the build consisted of? And rewired because?
