the bottom nut is the stay to hold the rod nut that is above it - all you did by removing it is allow the pogo to turn in a circle - the big nut has to come off that was against the small nut you took off -- if you are going to be working on this bike you need the two factory books parts and service it would have shown you the pieces -- no biggy but the books really help see what you need to do

Double check that you removed the right nut from the bottom of the frame. The rod has a flat in it that goes in a matching welded in washer at the bottom of the frame. Some one may have twisted the rod in the washer and jammed it.

Ive been spraying Kroil at the top an from the bottom. the top that hooks to the seat spins around free as can be. im pullin with my cherry picker from top.. an using a 2ton bottle jack from bottom. ive been thinking about tryn to heat the lower part.. but with oil an grease around just dont want to start another issue. lol thanx

I know this is old but I have the same problem on my 66 Servicar! How did you get yours out? I also pulled from the top with my car lift. I have busted off the top of the seat post and also drilled out the rod from the bottom and hammered it up with no luck. The upper part I had to cut with a sawzall. It was broke and stuck when I got it.
My next move is to either grind the bottom washer off completely and try to hammer it down all the way through or get a long drill bit and drill it all the way from the top. The springs that I have been able to get out are all broken and I think the complete setup is stuck all the way down, no fluid will go through. What a pain! Thanks
