Default Stewart Warner speedo ID question

I have a Stewart Warner speedo Model 540 Variant AR Date code V11, would like to know the harley part number so I can figure out what year and model range this speedo is for such as a Stewart Warner model 540G is a Harley 67004-62 for years 1962-1968 FL/FLH.

My chart only goes to the 540 AL which would be the 1969 and later with the 23 tooth driven gear and shaft. The driven shaft was used from 69 to 80.

Thanks Filithy,
So my 71 FX super glide should have the black face 10 to 120 mph speedo (SW 540 AL) HD 67004-68C and not the "tumbstone" 1 to 12 speedo (SW 540G) HD 67004-62. Any idea the Harley part number for the SW 540AR?

I believe the 71 is the same that was on my 72 FLH a 0-120 with a red, white, blue needle. My parts book gives the same part number for 71 and 72 FX 67004-68C.

Mine too. Now I just need to find one. I have seen some listed by the SW number and not the HD number. Thanks for the help

Some good info, thanks.

I have a '71 also, currently has the later speedo on the left, but the one on the right is what I believe correct:

Thanks 07.
I found one now I need to restore it or at least clean it up. Any idea how to clean the face without damaging the black background or the white numbers? Its a little faded and grungy.

Hmm..good question. Perhaps glass cleaner and a microfiber towel or soft toothbrush?
