Default 1985 flht

My clutch is slipping, on a pull. And I don't know know if low primary oil would make it slip

Never mind I added oil and the slipping STOPPED, maybe before you give advice you should check that you ARE CORRECT IN THAT ADVICE, and one more thing my 1985 FLHT IS exactly what it says it is...

1st If you added oil and the clutch quit slipping...I'm Impressed!
Maybe you have a Hydraulic clutch!
Second...If you have a 1985 Shovelhead FLHT I wanna see pics and Documentation...Hell I may just be wrong all these years!!!

Lots of bikes from "contracts"..such as PDs and other fleet bikes that were made "after" production runs..thus not counted. Production" Shovels til mid '84 but plenty still made for "contracts" for nearly another 2 years or more.

First - your a new guy and as such have no idea who is and who is not up to speed on your type machine -- so as a new guy you get a pass sort of - Race is very helpfull all the time and correct or he does not answer

second - most of the guys would have given the same answer as that is a common issue and that is actually what it does WHEN its leaking someplace or you did not fill it correctly

third - many many camaros have z 28 on the fender and the only thing z 28 about the car is the badge -- some are into that

AND cap letters / words will get you run off as it is rude

Actually he was correct about the oil, low won't make that setup slip, you have something else going on and that type liked to glaze & warp the steel plates. Fresh shot of oil may give you bit of traction but it'll be short lived. They had a few other common failure items also may be worth your time to open it clean, inspect and adjust everything anyway.

Default Shovelhead???

Where or when did I EVER say I have a shovelhead??? I'm a guessing that's where you made your mistake, NEVER said I had a shovelhead, I said 85' FLHT.
Now that we're on the same page, I have owned three shovelheads and I know they have a dry clutch.
That's why I didn't know anything about a "wet" clutch... I'm sorry if you miss understood, are we good? Peace
