Default 82 FXR Brakes

Hey all. Front brakes pulsate and rear rotor is pitted. Can these rotors be turned? Easy to get new rotors?

Thanks.

New rotors are actually inexpensive...get the rotors that match your pads...ore vice/vis as brake performance depends on matched components.

There isxa big variation in price on rotors. Does what rotor i get matter in terms of function?

Yes...A good indy can be your friend here...
Stock pads seem best matched to Cast Rotors [going on Memory here].
Other types should be matched to the appropriate Rotor/Pad composition...

Yours is probably PN 45126-82
Shortly after that it was 45124-83
For the single line to the "T" I'm thinking they are interchangeable...But can't be sure...looks to be by the Examples of '82 and '83's I have seen...

Thanks alot! BTW, I have the bobtail rear fender, and it appears that the fender struts are not the original. Will the original style struts bolt up to the bobtail fender??

I doubt it...There was never a bobbed fender from the MoCo on an FXR...Absolutely Not in the '80's. Course...IDK what the CVO stuff was...They may have had about anything Me Thinks...

Thanks. Im aware that its aftermarket, but I want to replace the struts, but am not sure which struts to purchase (Id just get the original replacements, but they appear different than whats on the bike)?? I like the bobtail and fatbob tank on this bike from previous owner, so plan to leave it that way for now.
