Default Barn find needs input on new ignition

I just picked up a 1977 FLH that has been in storage for 20 yrs. Pretty cool bike and even has a sidecar that came with it when it was originally purchased, or so the previous owner says. Anyways, I'll work on getting some pics up but meanwhile, let me pick your brain on this one. The bike is mostly stock but......there have been modifications done so there are 4 spark plugs. Luckily they are easy to get to. 2 coils present also. I'm wanting to update things and swap out the points and condenser for electronic ignition. Anyone have suggestions about the best system? Type of spark plugs /spark plug wires? The best coils for this kind of job?

Thank you.

I'm with Racepres on this.
I run a Crane HI-4 on an Ironhead Sportster, have been for years and it's been great.
Spark plugs, coils and wires that are designed for an electronic ignition, AKA suppression plugs & wires.
Need 2 coils and they should be low resistance(ohms) coils.

Have you changed all the fluids, drained the fuel tank and put fresh gas in it as well as pulled the carb and give it a good scrubbing/cleaning?
20 yrs sitting is a good while and time takes it's toll on these older bikes.

That barn find came with a side hack huh? Daym, that's a good find, if I do say so myself.....

Good luck with the old girl..........

Pop the cover and see what's in it before you decide what to do , will make a big difference in costs between a Dyna-S and the Crane setup if those are even still around.

Thanks for the advice. All fluids will be changed out. Going with an S&S carb. Needs a new battery. Will probably give the tank a good going over. New tires are also on the list. The hack was in good shape only it needs a new windshield. I'm not going hog wild on any kind of museum restoration. Just getting it running good and having it as a sunday drive....leaving it down and dirty without the fairing or windshield. Also it came with a solo seat which looks better than the ugly stock seat that came with that year.

She's been sitting that long think doing a wheel bearing repack and changing out the brake fluids, may save you some grief down the road a bit.

I would use kerosene to clean out the oil tank when you do the oil change, I got all kinds of sludge out of the one I'm working on, and it sat 15 years. Just put some in and rock the bike back and forth, should slosh it around and loosen all the crud up.
